Our mission is as simple as it is critical:
To make every Australian household, school, and community a safer place through the provision of life-saving LifeVac® anti-choking devices.
At the same time, FamilySafe provides a mechanism for schools, churches, and other charities to raise much-needed funds through sales of LifeVac® in their community.
As an authorised reseller of genuine LifeVac® devices – the only anti-choking device approved for sale in Australia by the TGA – we are committed to ensuring more of these life-saving tools are readily accessible across the country. Choking is a leading cause of accidental death in Australia, especially amongst children and the elderly. However, with the right equipment on hand, the vast majority of these deaths are entirely preventable.

Meet the family
FamilySafe was founded by Andrew Wilson, a married father of three beautiful children. He is also co-founder and director of The Other Dimension.
Andrew’s introduction to LifeVac® followed a terrifying experience when his 18-month old daughter began choking on a piece of Lego. Fortunately, after 90 seconds of total obstruction – with his baby girl being stiff and blue – he was able to dislodge the offending item. But the fear and helplessness he and his wife felt when practiced first aid techniques failed in that moment is something they will never forget. After researching anti-choking devices, Andrew discovered the existence of LifeVac® – Australia’s only TGA approved anti-choking device – and its record of saving thousands of lives around the world. He quickly purchased several of the devices for his family, helping reduce the anxiety around the ‘what if?’ scenarios that had left he and his wife traumatised by the experience.
The next step was trying to raise the profile of the devices, so that they would be more widely available. This led to the founding of FamilySafe, and our unique fundraising-based model.
FamilySafe is a family-owned business, with Andrew working alongside his brothers Matt and David Wilson who are both fathers to young children. Together, the brothers share a vision to make life-saving LifeVac® devices accessible everywhere across Australia, so no one loses a loved one to a preventable choking tragedy.
